REDUCE PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC
Proposed Goal:
To reduce or eliminate foot traffic on Spanish Oaks Drive.

How:
2. Get Nebo School District to add to the existing route on Powerhouse Road, coming up through Fairway Drive, Eagle Drive, through the new subdivision, and down Spanish Oaks Drive.
3. Add a trail on the land currently owned by Spanish Fork City for reservoir and bike trail pedestrian traffic.
Why?
The construction on Oakridge Cove and Spanish Oaks Drive will bring increased traffic up an already dangerous street. There is a section of this street that has a blind corner (see "Danger Zone" on the map). Most vehicles approaching this corner from
below are accelerating to get up the hill.
In addition to the foot traffic of children coming up from the school bus stop, we also see an increase in foot traffic from people coming and going to the reservoir. With no sidewalks on this section of the road, we are forcing
pedestrians onto a busy street-- one soon to become even busier.

Q & A
Q. Has this proposal been formally submitted?
A. No. At this point we're just getting feedback from the neighborhood to see if it's worth pursuing. Based on support for the idea, we'll take next steps. With the approval of the zone changes
to facilitate the construction of Oakridge Cove on Sept 6, 2022, we assume if an easement will be needed we should suggest sooner than later that it be included.
